Since I learnt to swim in the tidal waters of Northbridge Baths, pools have been a constant in my life. I love being immersed in them, swimming laps up and down them, admiring their colour scheme, design and style, learning about their history and meeting the regulars who love their pool.
As a Sydneysider, my blog features many of the city’s aquatic gems from chlorine complexes to harbour baths and ocean pools. I always pack my cossie, cap and goggles when I travel so you’ll also find stories about pools in capital cities across the country, regional centres, rural areas and in international cities like Paris and Milan.
When I’m not in the pool I work as a freelance writer and over the past couple of years I have written several travel pieces about pools published in the Travel and Indulgence section of The Weekend Australian. You can read them by clicking on the links below:

Me too! Love it
Enjoying your blog, Therese. Here is a link that may be of interest: http://www.awen.org.uk/jubileepoolstories
Great Lois. Lovely to meet you in the laundromat in Penzance and thanks for the coffee. Thanks also for the link and for telling me about the wonderful night of water and pool stories in Penzance that I should have gone to! Wished the Jubilee Pool had been opened when we were there and I could have experienced swimming in it in all it’s 1930s art deco glory! All the best with your writing and travels! Therese
